Dilani Daluwatte
I am a perinatal and general adult psychiatrist with a wide range of experience. I trained at the Austin and Mercy hospitals in Heidelberg, before joining private practice.
I am passionate about accessibility of specialised care for all Australians. Hence I manage the parent-infant unit at the Bendigo Hospital since 2018.
Transitioning into parenthood can be a challenging time for many which can lead to strain upon ones mental health. Helping parents navigate through these difficult times is something I find rewarding, and enjoyable.
Additionally, my areas of interest include women’s mental health, attachment relationships, mother baby interactions and mood disorders within the perinatal period. I also have experience working with people who have sustained trauma and victims of domestic violence.
I am a Circle of Security parent facilitator. My approach is informed by training mentalization based psychotherapy.
I am originally from Sri Lanka. My skills expand to being fluent in both English and Sinhalese. I am also a busy mother of a teenager. I am excited to join GLOW consulting at GLOW Malvern, Cabrini Malvern Mother & Baby Centre.
